David Cournoyer is a story weaver who appreciates how stories engage, entertain and educate. David tracks stories as a freelance journalist and independent consultant from his Twin Cities homebase. He started his career as a television reporter in Albuquerque, working later in West Palm Beach and Minneapolis. David also worked at the network level, covering Hurricane Andrew for CBS News and the Oklahoma City bombing trials for Fox News Channel as its Denver correspondent. David transitioned to nonprofit communications, first for the American Indian College Fund and then the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Since then, he has been passionate about human and organizational development and culturally based solutions, often working as a facilitator with tribal and nonprofit groups. As a volunteer, he serves on the boards of First Peoples Fund and the Minneapolis American Indian Center. A father of two daughters, David is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
