Office of United States Representative Sharice Davids (D-KS-03)

United States Representative Sharice Davids (KS-03) today took part in a New Democrat Coalition leadership meeting with White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, Counselor Steve Ricchetti, and Director of Legislative Affairs Louisa Terrell. The discussion, which took place in the West Wing, centered on working collaboratively on legislation and New Democrat policy priorities for the American Jobs Plan and upcoming American Family Plan. Davids is a vice chair of the New Democrat Coalition (NDC).

“I appreciated the discussion with White House senior staff about working together to get things done for the American people,” said Davids. “From a transformational infrastructure and jobs package, to helping our small businesses recover from the pandemic, to lowering the cost of health care, there are many critical issues facing Kansans that I hope to work with this Administration on and the New Dems have an important role to play in shaping legislation and getting it passed.”

With 94 Members, the New Democrat Coalition is the largest House Democratic ideological caucus. They are committed to pro-economic growth, pro-innovation, and fiscally responsible policies.

Davids, who is also vice chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee was also part of a White House meeting last month with a bipartisan group of infrastructure leaders. At both meetings she discussed Kansas infrastructure priorities like expanding U.S. Highway 69.
