Tachi Palace Golf Tourney & Breakfast Raises $70K for CA Big Brothers & Sisters

Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino recently presented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California a check for $70,408 with funds raised at its 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and May community breakfast.
“The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization provides a much needed service to the youth of our community,” said Tachi Palace General Manager Willie Barrios. “We are proud to support them and their efforts to make such positives impacts on the lives of youngsters.”
The annual charity golf tournament was held at the Kings Country Club in Hanford and drew 37 teams, resulting in funds totaling $55,416. The community breakfast, held at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino had 480 people in attendance and raised nearly $7,500 with the casino and the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribe matching the amount, for a total of $14,992. Barrios was on hand to present the check $70,408 check to Elizabeth Smith, Operations Manager of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California is dedicated to providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-on-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Children ages six through 18 living in Fresno, Madera, Tulare and Kings counties are eligible to participate in the program.
On behalf of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California Foundation and Agency boards, the Bigs, Littles, parents/ guardians staff and I, we want to thank Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino for their generosity and support,” said Diane Phakonekham, Executive Director. “The $70,408 will help support our two High School Bigs Program in Hanford – Hanford High School students mentoring Monroe Elementary students, and Lemoore – Lemoore High School students mentoring Lemoore Elementary students.”
Tachi Palace is proud to be celebrating its 35th anniversary of giving back to the community. The next community breakfast will be held on Friday, June 29, and will benefit Project Linus.
