News Release

24th Navajo Nation Council

Yá’át’ééh shik’éí dóó shidine’é,

As a new day shines upon the Navajo Nation, we as people have spoken on what future we want for our children and grandchildren. Two years have passed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and within that timespan, the teachings of K’é have empowered each one of us to care for one another and propel us to greater progress.

In order to protect the future for our descendants, we must exercise our constitutional right to vote in every election. From hearing the many conversations surrounding this year’s Navajo Nation Primary Election, I am assured that the freedom and liberty granted to us will continue to strengthen our democracy.

As the Navajo Nation General Election nears, it is pertinent that we listen diligently to the various candidates across the Nation in order to decide the next step in our journey. I humbly thank you, the Navajo people, for exercising your right to vote and letting your voices be heard. Let us move forward as one family and one nation towards a new year in Gháájí’.
