Yesterday, the delegation from NDN Collective attending the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) announced their involvement in key events on the ground this week:

Tuesday, November 2, 11:30am-12:30pm GMT: Jade Begay, director of NDN Collective’s climate justice campaign and member of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council, will be participating in the World Leader’s Summit as a speaker at the Equitable Deep Decarbonization: A Roundtable Discussing the Historic Justice40 Initiative.

*This event will be held at the US pavilion in Glasgow, and will be live streamed on the official U.S. Center YouTube channel.

Wednesday, November 3 11:15 am GMT: Jade Begay will speak at Showcasing Indigenous-Led Climate Work, a panel providing an opportunity for funders, supporters, and state parties to consider ways to collaborate toward climate justice and resilience for all.

*This event will be held in Glasgow at the Indigenous Peoples’ Pavilion, and will be live streamed on the official U.S. Center YouTube channel.

Wednesday, November 3, 8:50 pm GMT: Kailea Frederick, climate justice organizer at NDN Collective and member of the city of Petaluma Climate Action Commission, will speak at ‘What is Climate Justice?’ a discussion about Black and Indigenous solidarity in the fight for climate justice. The discussion will follow Can I Live?, a new theater piece beginning at 7:00 pm BST from Complicité & Fehinti Balogun.

Thursday, November 4, 7-10 pm GMT: NDN Collective will share key learnings from their recently published book, ‘Required Reading: Climate Justice, Adaptation and Investing in Indigenous Power’ at a panel Our Village: How do we build indigenous power in times of crisis? featuring Lycia Maddocks, Political Director at NDN Collective, and Colette Pichon Battle, founder and executive director of Gulf Coast Center for Law and Policy, the panel will be moderated by Kailea Frederick, Climate Justice Organizer at NDN Collective.

NDN Collective will also screen short films produced by the organization’s Climate Justice and LANDBACK campaigns, and hold open dialogue about Indigenous self-determination and land management as climate solutions.

Saturday, November 6, 11:30 am GMT: Global Day of Action for Climate Justice

*This event will be held in Kelvingrove Park at the Stewart Memorial Fountain in Glasgow.

Sunday, November 7 6:30pm GMT: Cy Wagoner, Creative Resistance Coordinator at NDN Collective will speak at The Climate Catastrophe the World Ignores: The Tibet Climate Crisis and Chinese Colonialism
