Mullin: "From the start, the impeachment inquiry has been an attempt to undo the last election and this resolution doesn’t change that.”

News Release

Office of U.S. Representative Markwayne Mullin (R-OK-2)

Representative Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) released the following statement after voting against H.Res. 660, a resolution to continue Speaker Pelosi’s Soviet-style impeachment inquiry.

“This is nothing more than a vote to continue the sham process the Democrats have run for the past 37 days,” Mullin said. “This resolution does not authorize an impeachment inquiry, does not make all hearings, transcripts and depositions open to the public, and does not give due process to our duly elected president. From the start, the impeachment inquiry has been an attempt to undo the last election and this resolution doesn’t change that.”

Background on H.Res. 660

  • Does NOT include a vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry.
  • Does NOT make all impeachment hearings open to the public – only the hearings Chairman Schiff chooses.
  • Does NOT make all transcripts of depositions available to the public – only the transcripts Chairman Schiff chooses.
  • Does NOT allow the President’s counsel to attend, question, or request evidence be admitted by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
