
Heard Museum announces largest art prize to-date for annual best of show competition

The Heard Museum is pleased to announce an increased award amount of $25,000 to the Best of Show winner of the 64th annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market, almost doubling the previous prize amount. All art receiving awards during the Juried Competition will be on display at the Best of Show Reception on March 4th, kicking off the 2022 Indian Fair & Market. Over $97,000 in prize money will be awarded across 10 categories. This record-breaking award is due to generous support of Howard R. & Joy M. Berlin, Kristine & Leland W. Peterson, the Head Family, and Sharron Lewis.
The Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market is one of the largest Indigenous art markets in the world and draws nearly 15,000 visitors and more than 650 of North America’s most preeminent Indigenous artists. It provides visitors the opportunity to meet artists and collect art directly from them.
