Georgene Louis for Congress

The Georgene Louis for Congress campaign today announced a major new endorsement from the Affiliated Tribe of Northwest Indians, which is a nonprofit organization representing 57 Northwest tribal governments from Oregon, Idaho, Washington, southeast Alaska, Northern California and Western Montana.

In their endorsement letter, the Affiliated Tribe of Northwest Indians stated, “We believe Ms. Louis has demonstrated her commitment to the critical issues impacting Indian Country as well as needs of communities across the country, such as quality education, the protection of natural resources and women’s rights. Representation is important and while it is exciting to see Secretary Haaland named to a Cabinet position, it is critical that the Native American perspective remains intact with the opportunity for the District 1 position to be filled by Representative Georgene Louis of the Acoma Pueblo, who understands the needs of Indian Country.”

“As a proud member of the pueblo of Acoma, I’m proud to have the support of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians,” said Georgene Louis. “When in Congress, I will fight everyday to build on the vital work of Deb Haaland, serve as a strong Native voice in Congress, and deliver for all New Mexicans.”
