News Release

Clean Power Alliance

The California Independent System Operator (CAISO) has declared an Energy Emergency Alert 2, indicating that rotating outages may begin shortly — most likely during peak energy usage hours today from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Rotating outages typically last about one hour and occur across the state regardless of energy provider. To see the potentially impacted areas in Southern California and for additional information on power outages, please visit sce.com/rotatingoutage.

CPA urges customers to immediately reduce energy usage to help reduce strain on the electricity grid:
• Turn off your air conditioning or set your thermostat to 78 degrees.
• Close doors and windows and adjust window shades.
• Keep your refrigerator and freezer closed.
• Shut off and unplug appliances.
• Run your laptop on battery until after 10 p.m.
