Alan Roy for State Senate (Minnesota, District 2)
Leonard Alan Roy, 36, officially earned the Democratic-Farmer-Laborer (DFL) endorsement in his run for Minnesota Senate District 2.
He earned close to 97% of the voting delegates support in the State’s second largest Senate District that encompasses the White Earth Reservation and the Red Lake Reservation.
Roy’s Senate campaign has covered several issues that include: ensuring healthcare for all, investing in public education, supporting work rights and unions, developing Minnesota’s infrastructure, supporting environmental stewardship, advancing criminal justice reform, promoting trust relationships with Minnesota’s Tribes, supporting rural energy development, and prioritizing economic and workforce development for the Senate District.
“I’m honored and humbled by this endorsement,” said Roy. “I look forward to running a positive campaign through November. I believe now is the time to bring people together for positive change. Working on public health issues and the economy will be incredibly important with the current pandemic. Miigwech (thank you) for everyone for their support.”
Roy currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the White Earth Nation. A U.S. Army veteran, he holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
