Benzene

The Phillips 66 refinery in Ponca City sits just a short distance from the Standing Bear Museum and Educational Center, where benzene continues to contaminate the groundwater. Oil rights were taken from the Ponca Tribe in north central Oklahoma and then exploited by the oil and gas industry with little thought given to environmental protection.
