I thank you because we need more (and straighter) straight talk about the problem of normalizing violence against women. Far too often, it is taken for granted in society -- Native and non-Native -- that it is normal, natural and somehow okay to act out against females and then dismiss the tragic shaming, demeaning effect of this on the females and on our entire society. I want to see more awareness of the point of view of females -- and not just the point of view, but our feelings, our development into mothers, grandmothers and society members.
