WHO: The United Houma Nation tribe based in Houma, Louisiana

WHAT: Is hosting its First Annual Native Pride 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run for Kids

WHEN: Saturday, March 21, 2020, 8:00 a.m.

WHERE: The Houma Airbase, located at 102 Moffet Road, Houma, LA 70363

WHY: All proceeds go towards The United Houma Nation Center and Land Fund, which will be used to pay for the development of a new centralized center in Houma for the tribe’s offices and events.

HOW: The fee to participate is $10.00, and tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite at the following link: Everyone is welcome to attend and participate! The run will take place at the Houma Airbase as a way to help kick off the United Houma Nation Vocational-Rehabilitation (Voc-Rehab) Pow Wow, which will take place near the race site. Sign-in for runners and walkers begins at 8:00 a.m. The 5K race will kickoff at 8:30 a.m. After the race, everyone is invited to celebrate Native American culture, enjoy delicious native foods, native crafts, and native music at the Voc-Rehab Pow Wow.
