Notice of Intent to Repatriate

The National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution plans to repatriate the following to Holy Cross Village, Alaska

The human remains of a minimum of 23 individuals and five funerary objects were removed by Ales Hrdlicka from locations in Alaska near Holy Cross, Ghost Creek, and Koserefsky. The preponderance of the evidence indicates that these individuals and funerary objects are culturally affiliated with Holy Cross Village, Alaska.
