We are seeking a Marketing Manager to join our fast-growing nonprofit journalism organization. This is an exciting opportunity to help IndiJ Public Media create, build and launch new marketing strategies and campaigns that drive audience growth and brand relevance. The ideal candidate understands the marketing funnel and how to optimize it at each stage. We are looking for an experienced marketing professional who has worked alongside creative and media teams on successful campaigns with measurable impact and who has managed agency partners from brief to execution. Success in this role hinges on your ability to partner with teams across our highly collaborative organization to bring complex campaigns to life. Exemplary communication, organizational and project management skills are a must.

Job Description:

Manage all aspects of marketing efforts and promotional campaigns for the business-side of IndiJ Public Media and assist with graphics and assets for the broadcast division. Monitor the organization’s brand strategy to ensure the messaging is cohesive across all media platforms. Manage the fundraising website and social media messaging for the business team. Cultivate an engaged audience of readers/listeners/viewers through promotional communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement a marketing strategy around IndiJ Public Media and its news divisions — “ICT Newscast with Aliyah Chavez” and — and track metrics on web, social media, e-newsletters and other communications.
  • Play an integral role in establishing and optimizing companywide promotions to continuously reach and engage new audiences.
  • Coordinate beginning-to-end promotional campaign workflow — from establishing the strategy and developing RFQs to the creative and media execution as well as to the measurement and reporting — and ensure clear communication throughout each step of the process.
  • Create graphics for the daily broadcast as needed.
  • Manage the outsourcing of creative assets in developing innovative marketing programs and campaigns to grow content awareness and engagement among different audiences across various platforms.
  • Help develop key messages for promotional campaigns in line with brand identity and strategic goals.
  • Monitor implementation of brand strategy across the organization to ensure consistency in messaging, brand identity, voice, and tone. (NOTE: News teams will make editorial content decisions independently.)
  • Build and manage collaborative relationships with digital and broadcast news teams to align plans and activity related to marketing.

  • Help shape and execute social media strategies that impact business objectives and collaborate with the news teams to develop, deploy and optimize compelling social creative assets.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in managing a fast-paced office
  • General business skills including information management, budget preparation, record maintenance, inventory/supply management, compiling reports and scheduling
  • Knowledge of software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred but not required: Dropbox, QuickBooks,, and DocuSign
  • Experience in working for a nonprofit is helpful
  • Experience in working for, or understanding of, a news media organization is a plus
  • Understanding of tribes and Indigenous people and their communities is preferred

Special Particular Requirements

  • Must have valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Position may require the standing for long periods of time, walking, sitting, bending and stooping
  • Some travel required
