SUMMARY: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is ultimately responsible for the

overall management and operation of the health center and is accountable to the overall success of Carl T Curtis Health Education Center.


The CEO strategically positions CTCHEC for changes in health care; grows and

develops the agency to be responsive to the ongoing and changing health care needs of the community; leads the senior management team in strategic planning that provides appropriate opportunities for agency growth; demonstrates sound financial and budgeting practices and assures that CTCHEC remains fiscally viable;

ensures provisions of high quality, customer orientated services through effective

quality improvement strategies, develops collaborations with other health agencies/organizations to advance CTCHEC’s mission; services as a representative

of the organization to external public and private agencies, groups and the community, keeps the Board (Omaha Tribal Council) apprised of center activities and changes in the health care field that may impact CTCHEC’s services is responsible for adherence/compliance to laws, regulations, grant requirements, and business protocol; oversees staff development; manages efficient and effective operations of the health center’s programs.

The CEO will work closely with the Leadership Team in planning, directing and

Coordinating operational activities at the highest level of management including; interpreting and implementing policies of the Board of Directors – The Omaha Tribal council; development of necessary management information systems and business systems; implementing and documentation of quality assurance in all

Clinic functions; oversight of rigorous fiscal management

CTCHEC seeks an accomplished leader with a strong combination of public services and business acumen which has been gained from a professional career in community health and/or public health and must also have a sensitivity and commitment to the distinctive mission of CTCHEC. The qualified candidate must

demonstrate an understanding of the national healthcare environment and, the

direction in which it is heading under the Affordable Care Act.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to and strong results from best medical practice management, healthcare business development and

Financial prowess as distinguishing marks of his or her progressive career.

Knowledge of and experience dealing with professional and government regulatory, accrediting and licensing agencies is expected.


Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health or a related field. Master’s Degree highly desired. Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible managerial position of which, six years or must be at the level of Assistant Director or Senior Leadership level in a federal qualified health care (FQHC) organization and/or 6 years of Senior Leadership level in a Federally

Recognized tribal government.
