Lyla June Johnston

Lyla June Johnston is a musician, scholar and journalist of Diné (Navajo), Tsétsêhéstâhese (Cheyenne) and European lineages. She blends studies in Human Ecology at Stanford, graduate work in American Indian Education at University of New Mexico, and the traditional worldview she grew up with to inform her music, perspectives and writings. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks with a focus in Indigenous Food Systems.
