Woman pleads guilty to embezzling from Fort Peck

A Poplar woman pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to theft from an Indian tribal organization and conspiracy to obstruct a federal audit. Angelita Marie Headdress, 28, entered the plea in Great Falls in front of Magistrate Judge Keith Strong, who set sentencing for Oct. 21. Headdress was among six former Fort Peck Credit Department employees who issued and approved loans and other payments, in addition to their payroll checks, for themselves and family members.
