Businesses on the Wind River Indian Reservation and in eastern Wyoming landed federal grants to help better market their products. Five businesses and the Eastern Shoshone tribe received grants through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Business Enterprise Grant program. A $12,800 grant went to Ancient Ways Taxidermy in Fort Washakie on the reservation to conduct market research and develop an Internet marketing plan. The agency awarded $20,500 to Glenrock Blue, Cubbyhole Country Store, Gaukel Grown & Ground, Cashbox Ceramics and Rogers Confections, to help create brochures, Web sites and national advertising for one or more of the businesses. The businesses are in Campbell, Crook, Converse, Niobrara and Weston counties.
