Last week MSNBC host and commentator Lawrence O’Donnell baldly stated, “This nation was founded on genocide,” in a passionate statement supporting the water protectors along the Missouri River near the Standing Rock Reservation.

He went on to give a four-minute recap of 500 years of post-contact oppression and highlight the tragic irony of the possibility that members of the Sioux and 100-plus tribes supporting the actions against the Dakota Access oil pipeline could be arrested for trespassing—on land that was originally theirs.

On Monday August 29, Standing Rock Sioux Chairman David Archambault II will appear on O’Donnell’s show The Last Word and make the case for water.

Watch Archambault on Monday August 29 at 9:45 p.m. Central Daylight Time on MSNBC.
