The MTV series Rebel Music, which focuses on musicians all over the planet who are fighting oppression and injustice with their art, visits the Indigenous people of Turtle Island in the premiere episode of its second season. Rebel Music: Native America will bring some of Indian country's brightest young talents to a larger audience. Artists like Frank Waln, Nataanii Means, and Inez Jasper may be well known and highly regarded among Native music fans, but many in the MTV audience will no doubt be getting their first earful through the Rebel Music program.
Rebel Music: Native America premieres on Thursday, November 13, on MTV's official Facebook page. The Facebook premiere is just the first airing of what will be a multi-platform campaign; according to MTV, the next phases will include "airings on mtvU, MTV2, Centric, Epix 2 and Epix.com. It will also debut for free on leading digital download and streaming platform partners including iTunes, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Verizon Flexview, and Xbox Video."
