Watch the Enchanting Trailer for 'Indigo,' Based on Native Stories

This trailer for the stop-motion short film 'Indigo,' part of the Toronto International Film Festival lineup, reminds us of Tim Burton's work.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced its slate of films for the 2014 fest (taking place September 4-14, 2014), and as always thre is a strong contingent of First Nations and Indigenous cinema. One that caught our eye is the stop-motion animated short "Indigo," directed by Cree/Metis filmmaker Amanda Strong. As described on the TIFF site: "Hand-crafted, stop-motion figures come to life in this dreamlike tale inspired by Native mythology, in which a confined woman is liberated by a grandmother spider while opaque memories are projected in an effort to restore her spirit as life nears its end."
