Washington home to ?rats?, literally

WASHINGTON ? Washington is the last place people in Indian country would think there would be a problem with wildlife.

The Washington Times reported this morning that D.C.'s unusually warm winter has caused a dramatic increase in the rat population. Fines are planned by district officials for apartment buildings and restaurants that have non-metallic or unprotected garbage storage containers in an effort to combat the rats that 'have been breeding like mad instead of killing off one another in a struggle for food that normally occurs in the winter months.'

In an unrelated update, Congress tentatively comes back into session on April 8.
