Stacy Johnson, a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, was the first to sell the higher grade fireworks such as bottle rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles and mortar sets. Those are illegal in the state of Michigan, with the exception of Native Americans on the reservation.
