Video: U.S. Ambassador to Germany Dances With Natives at ITB Berlin

At the recent ITB Berlin international travel trade show, the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) had a booth, which was again a huge success this year in boosting culture awareness and tourism opportunites for Indian country (related story: AIANTA Booth at ITB Berlin Is a Huge Success, Boon for Native Tourism).

One poignant, if slightly awkward, highlight of the event was the time the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Philip D. Murphy, and his wife, Tammy, stopped by the AIANTA booth to explore the Native offerings. The couple proceeded to join in on a Native dance led by the Keepers of the Sacred Tradition of Pipemakers.

Murphy, a good sport, is pretty deft on and with his feet, perhaps from being a part owner of Sky Blue FC, a women's professional soccer team. You can watch a clip here:
