Video: Sen. John McCain Demands Criminal Investigation into EPA for Gold King Mine Disaster

Cronkite News reports on Sen. John McCain's demand for criminal investigation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Gold King Mine Spill.

Editor’s Note: On Earth Day, April 22, Arizona Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, and Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Arizona, said that the events leading up to the August 2015 Gold King Mine spill, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s response to the Navajo Nation, merited a criminal investigation.

“This is not about the EPA’s response to the Navajo Nation—it’s about its commitment to remedy and compensate the people who have been dramatically impacted by this terrible disaster,” said McCain. “Whether at hearing in Washington, D.C. or just outside the Navajo Nation’s borders, the EPA has a responsibility to answer for its wrongdoings.”
