Video: Kylie Looney Wants to Teach About the History She Is So Proud of
A new video series from the Cherokee Nation spotlights Cherokee youth who embrace the culture and legacy of the nation. Kylie Looney, a high school senior at Adair High School, is involved with FCCLA, or Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She’s also student council president, a member of the science club and participates in basketball, softball, and track.
Kylie will be attending Northeastern State University on a basketball scholarship, and would like to teach United States history.
“Our history is something I am proud of. They faced a lot of adversity, and it kind of distinguishes who I am, it sets me apart from other people,” Kylie says in the video.
