Haskell Indian Nations University student filmmakers Robert Parker, Sarah Kissoon, and Lance One Horn interview Haskell faculty and some class of 2014 graduates in this video.

The students spoke to the current Miss Haskell and university President Dr. Venida Chenault, a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in Kansas.

“I don’t think there are too many colleges that have a graduation pow wow to honor the graduates… it’s very cross-cultural, inter-tribal,” Chenault says in the video. “I think the experience of Haskell helps students to understand our beauty as indigenous people and to understand how we really are all connected and related.”

A number of graduates say how proud they are and that they plan on continuing their education.
