World Hoop Dance Champion Shows Kids How to Hoop Dance

Dallas Chief Eagle, Sicangu Lakota, has hoop danced internationally and won first place in the Reno Red Cloud Memorial Hoop Dance Contest, Oglala Fair in 1997, and in the Senior Division of the World Hoop Dance Contest in Phoenix, Arizona. In this video, Chief Eagle teaches Hoop Dancing to students at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Along with the techniques, Chief Eagle teaches the importance of hoop dancing.
