Upscale Dining With a View: Turning Stone's TS Steakhouse to Host Grand Opening Celebration

Tonight starting at 7 p.m., invited guests and local dignitaries attending the private grand opening celebration of the new TS Steakhouse located on the 21st floor of the Turning Stone Tower Hotel in Verona, New York, will have the opportunity to taste the restaurant's “finest cuts of meat and exquisite seafood."

The menu was designed by Chef de Cuisine Joseph Stewart, who has returned to his home state of New York to run the kitchen. Originally from Batavia, Stewart has come back to New York after serving in kitchens across the country and beyond, most recently as Sous Chef at the St. Regis Hotel and Spa in Aspen, Colorado and Chef de Cuisine at BLT Steak at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“I chose to come to Turning Stone because of the excitement of opening a new featured restaurant at the Resort," Stewart said. "Also, as I drove back and forth to college from Batavia, New York to Rhode Island in the late 1990s, I kept seeing the expansion of Turning Stone and was always really interested in one day working there. Now, everything has come together to bring me closer to where I grew up. It’s perfect timing in my career.”

Featured items on Chef Joseph’s menu at TS Steakhouse include a mixed raw bar tower, Native corn and clam chowder, influenced by the Oneida Indian culture of “eating the seasons,” Wagyu New York Strip Steak, and a Seven Layer Chocolate Cake. The TS Steakhouse menu also embraces the “farm to table” concept, featuring fresh goods from local vendors.

While dining at TS Steakhouse atop the tower hotel, the tallest building between Albany and Syracuse, visitors will see breathtaking panoramic views of the countryside including Oneida Lake. Still, the food is the main attraction.

“We want the food to surpass the impressiveness of the amazing 360 degree views and leave guests talking about TS Steakhouse and how impressed they were with their dining experience for weeks and months to come,” Stewart said.

The Oneida Indian Nation partnered with famed restaurant consultant Elizabeth Blau, founder of Blau + Associates, to help transform Central New York into a culinary destination. “TS Steakhouse is the first of several projects with Elizabeth to take our dining experiences to a higher, more exciting level,” Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said in a press release.

The restaurant opens to the public November 14, and guests can make reservations on Open Table through the Turning Stone Resort Casino web site, or by calling (315) 361-7711 or toll-free at (800) 771-7711.
