Before the English settlers landed at Jamestowne 400 years ago, there was a rich Native American culture in Virginia. One of these original Indian tribes, the Upper Mattaponi, will celebrate this rich culture and their history May 23-24. “We invite all of our fellow Virginians to come learn about our heritage, to experience our culture and join us and members of other tribes for two days of celebration at our Pow-Wow,” said Ken Adams, chief of the Upper Mattaponi tribe.
