Two women from the Shinnecock Indian Nation go to Washington, D.C., to discuss education

Knowing that President Barack Obama is holding true to his campaign promises to Native American tribes moved Sherry Blakey Smith, the interim director of the Shinnecock Indian Education Program, to tears. Her emotions were stirred earlier this month when she and Nishwé Williams, co-chairwoman of the Shinnecock education program, travelled to Washington, D.C., from November 3 to 5, to attend a national conference on education
