The whole of Snohomish County came together late last month - community leaders, politicians, parents and neighbors - in an annual fund-raiser for the Tulalip Boys and Girls Club. This year's auction raised $100,00 said the club's co-director Terry Freeman. The money is needed to operate its 21,000-square-foot facility. Nearly 1,000 youngsters, 5 to 18, belong to the 4-year-old club. Membership is just $5 a year per child. "It's this kind of strong community support that makes our Boys and Girls Club the success that it is," said Tulalip Chairman Herman Williams Jr. A record-setting $11,000 was raised to send 40 youngsters to summer camps, including sports and computer programs. The "Send a Kid to Camp" program honors the memory of Tulalip Elementary School Teacher Gregg Farris.
