Tribes step up fight against drug abuse


After increasing access to substance abuse prevention programs on Montana and Wyoming's reservations the last three years, the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council has been awarded an even bigger grant to expand services. The council announced on Monday that they are the recipient of a $10,162,265 grantfrom the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for a four-year program called Access to Recovery, which provides vouchers to people with drug and alcohol use problems to pay for needed treatment and recovery support services.
