Towaoc jail assault case will continue


The man who allegedly gouged the eye of a guard at the Towaoc tribal jail didn't have a "James Bond license to kill," even though he might have been illegally imprisoned at the time, a federal judge said Thursday. U.S. District Judge Philip Brimmer refused to dismiss an assault charge against Ronald Romero, a member of the Nambé Pueblo in Santa Fe County, N.M.
