Throwback Thursday: Tony Duncan Joins Bret Michaels in a Ford Explorer Commercial

Tony Duncan is an acclaimed hoop dancer and Native American flutist. He's part of the well-known Duncan family of dancers and musicians, who are professionally known as YellowBird Productions. Duncan was named Artist of the Year at the 2013 Native American Music Awards, and he has danced for Cirque de Soleil and in the video for Nelly Furtado's "Big Hoops."

Most of this isn't news in Indian country. But here's an amusing minor tidbit Duncan recently posted to his Facebook page: the commercial he made with Bret Michaels—of the hair band Poison and the VH-1 reality show Rock of Love—for the 2011 Ford Explorer. The commercial itself, seen below, aired in advance of the 2011 Grammy Awards and has a Grammy theme:
