Return of artifacts on loan from North Dakota to a German museum is being delayed as a result of the recent terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. Glenda Embry, a spokeswoman for Chairman Tex Hall, said the tribe received word Sept. 28 from Sonja Schierle, curator of the Linden Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, that artwork and other cargo requiring special handling would be delayed. Artifacts from the Three Tribes Museum and Fort Berthold Community College, both at New Town, and from the State Historical Society of North Dakota, Minot State University and private collections have been on loan to the Linden Museum for an exhibit on the history and culture of the Three Affiliated Tribes. Schierle said she expects that artifacts will not be shipped before mid-October, but the museum will try to schedule their return as soon as possible.
