Shoni Schimmel made her WNBA debut on Friday and she didn’t disappoint.

The Dream started their season in Atlanta against a team they were expected to defeat. Schimmel scored all seven of her points in the fourth quarter helping the Dream's 79-75 victory over the San Antonio Stars in the opener for both teams, the Associated Press reported.

“It’s been a lot of fun to just be able to get back out on the court and be able to practice and play,” she told “It’s a lot more intense. You get in and you get out. You have to listen and learn real quick. That’s probably the biggest adjustment — taking what the coach says, listening and putting it all on the court.”

So far, Schimmel has been impressive. In the Dream’s preseason opener on May 11, Schimmel scored eight points with 2-of-7 shooting to take home a 63-58 victory over the New York Liberty.

On Saturday, the Indiana Fever lost their season opener to the Dream in double overtime, 90-88. Two-time WNBA scoring leader, Angel McCoughtry scored 27 points, and nailed a winning 3-pointer with nine seconds left Saturday. The Fever missed nine of 19 free throws. The Dream made 15 of 19. Indiana shot 50 percent from the floor (37 of 74), and the Dream made 35 of 72 shots (48.6 percent), the Associated Press reported.

She's already scored a nickname from Dream Coach Michael Cooper, "Showtime Shoni," after her electrifying playing style.

The Dream’s next game is set for May 24 against the Chicago Sky.
