Senecas gain allies in dispute over profits
At least four lawmakers are now allies of the Seneca Indian Nation in the tribe’s battle with the governor’s office over the sharing of casino profits with local governments and not-for-profit organizations. State Sen. George D. Maziarz, R-Newfane; State Sen. Catharine M. Young, R-Olean; Assemblyman Mark J. F. Schroeder, D-Buffalo; and Assemblyman Joseph Giglio, R-Gowanda, appeared with Seneca leaders at a news conference Sunday outside the tribe’s Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo.
