Seminole Tribe likely to punt compact back to lawmakers

A contingent from the Seminole Tribe was in Tallahassee Monday -- part of a two-week sprint to get a deal done before the Legislature-mandated Aug. 31 deadline for a high-stakes gambling deal. George Lemieux, Gov. Charlie Crist's former chief of staff who is helping lead the negotiations, said the two parties are "narrowing down the issues" and hope to have a signed deal by Aug. 31, 13 days away.
