"Paul Nosie Jr. of San Carlos has been re-elected chairman of the Arizona Commission on Indian Affairs. He was hailed for his "tireless work on behalf of the Indian peoples of Arizona. "We're making strides to be proactive," Nosie said. "In the past, people didn't really know that we're here." He is a familiar face in Arizona law enforcement, having worked for the Arizona Department of Public Safety as a Highway Patrolman and instructor. The commission serves as the legislative liaison between the state and the 21 tribes and nations.
