Early this morning, runners will gather in Greenwood under the Yankton Sioux Tribe’s Treaty of 1858 Monument to prepare for the start of the “Spiritual Run for the Sacred Pipe.” From there, they’ll embark on a four-day run to protest the sale of red pipestone at the Pipestone National Monument in Minnesota. The run will end at the monument Monday evening.
