As ICMN's A&E, Sports and Pow Wow's editor, [Vincent Schilling] I was fortunate to take some great photos at the Richmond Pow Wow, in Virginia in 2016.
As with many pow wow's I was thrilled to feel a sense of connection and camaraderie that I don't experience anywhere else. This fantastic Virginia pow wow has been thriving for decades.
It was exciting to see the range of ages and dance styles, and I was particularly mesmerized at the range of colors I saw on this day in 2016. When I originally posted the original pow wow photos, I was hard-pressed to choose only ten, because so many dancers looked brilliant in their wide array of regalia and colors.
The Richmond celebration was held on November 11 – 13, 2016 at the Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, VA. According to event organizer Barry Richardson (Haliwa Saponi,) the pow wow has been running strong for 35 years.

It is with great pleasure that I am now able to share even more to show what an amazing day it was for all the attendees and participants.
Here are a few of my favorites.
