SANTA ANA PUEBLO, New Mexico— Registration remains open for the 2016 AMERIND Risk Institute, but Sandia Resort & Casino, the host hotel, is sold out. However, there is still lodging available in the Sandia Resort & Casino vicinity in Albuquerque. Attendees are urged to make reservations and register for the Institute today!
The annual training program helps human resource directors, housing authority employees, tribal officer managers and gaming operations professionals learn about workers’ compensation, insurance claims and other information to protect tribal property and workforce.
Other topics include claims, and home and workplace safety. A session will also be held on fire safety, an important topic as fires caused $48 million in damages to tribal housing and property covered by AMERIND during the past five years, according to a company analysis.
A majority of these fires, whether caused by grease, children playing with matches, cigarettes left burning, among other common causes, are all preventable.
The two-day Institute will also include more than 20 exhibitors, who will display their products and services, such as software data and financial management.
AMERIND will have a special viewing of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta at this year’s Institute with a continental breakfast on the 9th floor of Sandia Resort & Casino. RSVP is required. The viewing is included in the registration fee.
AMERIND created the Institute 16 years ago to provide a forum for training, information sharing and support for tribal administrators overseeing property and human resources.
For more information or to register for the Institute October 4-5 at the Sandia Resort & Casino, in Albuquerque New Mexico, go to AMERINDRisk.org. Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are also available.
