Red Lake Tribal Chairman to Deliver State of the Band Address

The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Chairman Floyd “Buck” Jourdain will be delivering the State of the Band address on two days in March.

Jourdain will give the first address on March 1st at the Red Lake Casino hotel/event center in Redlake Minnesota. Then on March 2nd he will deliver it at the Minneapolis American Indian Center, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both events are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

The chairman will recap the tribal councils 2012 agenda, and present the goals, aspirations and plans for 2013. All Band members, friends and dignitaries are welcomed to attend.

In December it was announced that the Band would receive more than $21 million in loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Program – some of which was going to be used to build a 42,000-square-foot tribal college, according to Minnesota Public Radio News.
