Read the Letter Congress Members Sent to D.C. NFL Team Owner Dan Snyder
As ICTMN reported yesterday, 10 members of Congress sent a letter to Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington, D.C., NFL team, imploring him to change his franchise's name. The letter-sending follows the introduction of the Non-Disparagement of Native American Persons or Peoples in Trademark Registration Act of 2013 (H.R. 1278), which would cancel the federal registrations of trademarks using the word redskin reference to Native Americans. In a May 9 article in USA Today, Snyder declared, “We’ll never change the name. It’s that simple. NEVER – you can use caps.”
Here is the letter sent to Snyder.
