Pueblo of Santa Ana honored as best place to work

New Mexico Business Weekly, an Albuquerque-based newspaper dedicated to covering business and industry, recently announced the best places to work in New Mexico. Three pueblo business partners of the Pueblo of Santa Ana have been named best places to work in the medium and large business categories.

Santa Ana Golf Inc., was named the best place to work in the medium business category, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa was named one of the best places to work in the large business category, and AMERIND Risk Management Corporation, which is partly owned by the Pueblo of Santa Ana, was honored as one of the best medium-size companies to work for in the state.

Santa Ana Golf Inc., an organization that manages Twin Warriors Golf Club, Santa Ana Golf Club, Prairie Star Restaurant and Prairie Star Wine Bar, was named the best place to work in the medium-size company category, which honors businesses that have between 26 and 150 employees. Taking first place out of 10 companies in the category, it was recognized for the benefits the company offers including 100 percent of health, vision, dental and life/disability premiums for full-time employees, 401K profit sharing, three weeks paid vacation, and more. In addition, the company was also recognized for its “Hats Off” program that allows employees to recognize their colleagues for good work.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa was named the second best place to work in the large-size company category, which honors companies with 151 or more employees. It was recognized for its philosophy of providing authentic hospitality to its associates, guests and owners. In addition, the resort provides its associates with a high level of engagement in their career or job and provides opportunities for advancement and community partnerships.

More than 90 companies were nominated by their employees, who went online to take an anonymous survey. The surveys were scored by Quantum Market Research, an independent market research firm, and presented to the New Mexico Business Weekly. A total of 30 finalists from the small business, medium business and large business categories were honored at an event held Dec. 2, 2010.
