We've put together a great list of powwows happening all across the nation this weekend just for you!

If one of these exciting events is located near you, we recommend heading over to enjoy some lively dancing and drumming, thrilling musical performances, and delicious, authentic foods!

Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Wacipi, Minnesota

When & Where: August 17th – 19th at eh SMSC Reservation Pow Wow Grounds in Shakopee, Minnesota.

This year’s event will be filled with competitive dancing. Dance categories will include Men’s Chicken Dance, Women’s Buckskin, Golden Age, and more! Dancers will be competing for cash prizes ranging from $50 - $1500. There will be a special Women’s Golden Age Northern Traditional dance performance on Saturday night. Daniel Nimham Intertribal Pow Wow, New York

When & Where: August 18th – 19th at the Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park in Kent Lake, New York.

Gates open each day at 10AM and your grand entry will be a 12PM. Special guest appearances by Grammy winner, Joseph Fire Crow, Story Teller and Author, Evan Pritchard, and more! Admission is free! For more information about this event, click here.

14th Annual Thunder Mountain Lenape Nation Native American Pow Wow, Pennsylvania

When & Where: August 18th – 19th at the Festival Grounds in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.

Beginning at 10AM each morning, this year’s festival will be filled with tons of special performances, authentic Native American foods, dancing, and more! Powwow attendees will be able to enjoy a plethora of delicious, authentic Native American foods like Indian tacos, elk sausage, and buffalo chili. Saturday night will hold special performances by Native American Music Award winner, Michael Jacobs and dance group, Mana Polynesia. For more information about this event, click here.

Grand Ronde Annual Competition Powwow, Oregon

When & Where: August 17th – 19th at the Grand Ronde Tribal Powwow Grounds in Grand Ronde, Oregon.

This weekend event is all about the competitions! Dance contestants will compete in categories including Men and Women’s Fancy and Round Bustle for cash prizes up to $1,500. Your Master of Ceremonies is Fred Hill. For more information about this event, click here.
