Inauguration day on January 20th was historic as President Donald Trump was sworn in as our 45th president of the Untied States. ICMN's Christian Gomez, (Tlingit) a sixteen year old Native youth and the youngest member of ICMN's team of contributors is based in Washington D.C. and was available to recount his day through his photos.
Inauguration day was Friday and the American Indian Society Pow Wow was on the following day. Gomez attended both events, stating, "there was a mixture of responses on the Inaugural day parade route, some in support of the new president with the others voicing their opinions against him."
Gomez captured this contrast present on Inauguration day in some of his photos.

The following day he traveled to the American Indian Society Pow Wow in Crystal City, Virginia (a city right outside of Washington D.C.) and managed to get another selection of pow wow photos demonstrating Native pride is still alive in and around D.C.
"It was good to see everyone getting together, happy, and in such good spirits after the Inauguration," says Gomez.
