The Oneida Nation is opening a free lacrosse program for kids between the ages of 12-17 that will begin on September 8 and will continue every Thursday through September 29. The program is an hour long, from 6:30 to 7:30, at the Nation's lacrosse box on Territory Road, Oneida, New York.
The program is designed to help players to develop and hone basic lacrosse skills such as scooping, cradling, passing, catching, shooting, defensive, offensive, team skills. The Oneida Nation's recreation department is looking for males for the program.
Players will participate in 15 minutes of skills and drills and 45 minutes of no-contact scrimmages. A lacrosse stick, gloves, shoulder pads, and helmet are required from each participant.
